Documentation of an art happening in the West Village studio of Barbara Nessim, during which Nessim made large drawings of a fashion model while Karl Rudisill photographed the model and as well as Nessim drawing the model. Rudisil's photographs of the model were subsequently used by Nessim as collage elements. The collages, included in this book, are the basis for 2 solo exhibitions by Nessim, in Lenox, MA and New York, NY. The book also includes an essay by Kiša Lala, who attended the photo-shoot.

Barbara Nessim is an internationally recognized fine artist, illustrator, and educator. Her distinct style has placed her art on the covers of Time, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine, and The Boston Globe. Nessim has created iconic ads for Levis and Ralph Lauren, among others. Nessim has moved seamlessly between the worlds of illustration and fine art, where she is in the permanent collections of The Smithsonian Institute, The Lunds Kunsthal in Sweden, and the Szepmuveszeti Museum in Budapest. In March of 2007 Nessim installed three large paintings in the lobby of Centria, located at 18 West 48th Street, opposite Rockefeller Plaza. Nessim has taught at the School of Visual Arts and The Pratt Institute, where she earned her BFA degree in 1960, and was Chairperson of Illustration at Parsons School of Design from 1992-2004.
