Not just a well written book, but in an educational format that should be brought into educational programs for schools and hospital training workshop for children. the chickens are definetely real and well cared for and loved.

After reading "Nana's Chickens" I fell in love with the book! I have already bought several copies and will give them as Christmas gifts and am keeping a couple for baby shower gifts. Besides being a well made, sturdy book, it has a most delightful story about a little chicken who was picked on and how she "hatched" a plan with the neighbors dog to turn the situation around. The photos are of real chickens and the author has interpreted the looks and actions of each chicken so well that I am persuaded each hen posed for her photo! Once you read this wonderful book, you will empathize with the chickens and cheer at the ending! I recommend this book to anyone with children or for giving as a gift. Lorraine
