Comedy/Drama script for 4 or more actresses

“What’s on your list of what you look for in a partner?”

The four playwrights interviewed over 30 women, asking them that one, simple question: What’s on your list? They spoke to seniors, teenagers, and women of all ages in between. They spoke to women who were well-off, women on welfare, black women, brown women, white women, straight women, lesbian women, women who prefer not to choose, women who were happily married, unhappily married, happily divorced, and women who were single for a hundred different reasons.

The realization was that each item on each list was fascinating. But even more compelling were the stories behind how each item got there. Each item comes from our hopes and our dreams. Sometimes they come from what we’ve been taught to expect. Sometimes, they come from the best partner we’ve ever had. Sometimes, they come from what we’re determined to never, ever have to endure again. But ultimately, each item is about ourselves.

The result of these interviews is the one-act play "The List".
