Nikki started caving when she moved to Appalachia in 2002. She first got underground in Kentucky's Kingdom Come State Park with Pine Mountain Grotto. Since living in Virginia, her thirst for caving adventures has only grown.

 Originally from the flatlands of Nebraska, Nikki has lived from coast to coast and all in between, traveling for her job as a photojournalist. She's lived in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, California, North Carolina, Kentucky, Brazil and Mexico as an adult. Nikki currently resides in Harrisonburg, Va., where she can access caves and hiking trials within 30 minutes from her home.
