About

I’m an American/British visual artist who lives and works in Scotland on the site of what was once an 18th century woollen mill. I began my art career over 15 years ago working primarily with textiles, but drastically changed my practice upon my move to the UK in 2009, with a shift towards incorporating mixed media within my art. In 2018 after taking a course at the Glasgow School of Art, I began painting.

My current paintings and collages explore the fragile boundaries and the subtle relationships between humans and nature, and the often, messy, process of growth. Through my process I'm interested in synthesising the simple with the complex, the tame with the wild, the elegant with the unruly. Ultimately, aiming to bring to light the unappreciated, vulnerable, and strange beauty that exists within us, and in our world.
