The sixties and seventies was a coming of age; first love, first marriage, first heartaches, all through the eyes of a young woman influenced by youth and the tumultuous eras she found herself to be a part .
In every life, there is a living private literature that reveals life lessons that provides a blueprint for the rest of the journey.
About the Author
Donna Hickerson Young
hickerson
Louisville, Kentucky
I am a poet and I am a self-taught artist from Louisville. My art is a refection of growing up and living in Kentucky. I like to work with bright bold colors that bring alive my portraits of people, pets and landscapes. I am one of the fortunate people who dream in color and I put those colorful dreams and memories in my paintings and photographs.
I work with acrylic paints on small to medium size canvas. I also enjoy photography and digital art. There is drama in everyday life and I like the challenge of taking a photograph and turning it into a piece of fine art. Everyone’s past, present and future is their own personal literature and through my art and photography, I seek to tell their story.
