This book reflects my experiences over the last two years working with the homeless as a volunteer with Heading Home, a Boston-area non-profit organization that serves this population. The men and women I met shared their life stories with me, and told me about their experiences with homelessness. These portraits are an effort to put a face on the problem of homelessness by revealing a bit of the beauty and pain in each individual. The photographs also reflect my own response to their personalities. Some of these men and women have found permanent housing, some continue to be homeless, and some have died. The effort to end homelessness continues.
