Russ has been photographing Jazz Musicians in and around Birmingham since the mid 1990's. At first he worked exclusively in Black and White turning to working in colour in 2006. His work has been exhibited at the Midlands Arts Centre, The Drum and the Symphony Hall, all in Birmingham. His work has appeared in a number of magazines including The Wire and Jazzwise as well as featuring on CD sleeves for, amongst others, Julian Arguelles and Ken Vandermark.
