Software Engineer - Web Team

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the rest of the Blurb web engineering team to develop new web based projects and maintain the existing code base for www.blurb.com using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Develop technical design specifications for a wide variety of projects.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to develop internal systems and reports.
- Work with Product Management and User Experience experts to design a world-class web based user experience for ordering and promoting user created books.
EXPERIENCE
Required:- Strong knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Experience maintaining an in production Ruby on Rails code base.
- Strong knowledge of SQL.
- Strong Linux/Unix skills.
- Some knowledge of HTML/CSS and Javascript.
- Ability to work in fast paced team based environment.
- Experience with developing browser neutral code (for IE6, 7, FF 3 and Safari 3) and debugging any resulting problems.
- Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Strong Javascript Experience.
- Experience with GIT or other source control system.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
