About the Creator
In 2013 Alan won two awards from the prestigious International Photography Awards. He took First Place in the Panoramic category for a series of pictures from the Bakken Oil Field (the subject of a future book with Mountain Press). And his book, "Way Out: Street Photography Underground" received an Honourable Mention in the Self-Published Books category. Alan McQuillan began street photography in London during the 1960s and has lived in Montana for the last four decades. He says he simply likes to record what he sees as he moves around the city, using street photography's traditional method of shooting fast and unobtrusively with small cameras and especially Leica lenses. The Royal Photographic Society has made Alan an Associate based on his street photography. He has had solo shows as well as photographs selected for numerous juried shows and publications on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
