About the Creator
Irene Reti discovered landscape photography as a child on camping trips in the American West. Her love of nature inspired her to pursue a degree in environmental studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Over the decades, she also honed her craft as a writer and small press feminist book publisher, and devoted herself to a career as an oral historian at the UC Santa Cruz Library’s Regional History Project. Reti synthesizes her photography with storytelling, writing, and book publishing. She believes photography, oral history, and writing can offer hope and joy during a time of radical uncertainty. Her photography has been recognized by the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), the Lucie International Photography Awards for Handmade Photobooks, and Yosemite Renaissance.
