Jendrzejewski grew up in Fremont, Michigan. His parents were first and second generation immigrants: his mother, a Greek from Cairo, Egypt, his father from Pittsburgh, where his parents emigrated from Poland. Jendrzejewski's parents bestowed work ethic and culturally diverse attitudes. He experienced early success with his art, attended Interlochen Arts Academy, Tyler School of Art, and Washington University. He studied in Rome and Florence one year and served in Vietnam. Jendrzejewski's focus has been in sculpture throughout his teaching career, which included Forst Park Community College, Univerisity of Michigan, San Antonio Art Institute and Vincennes University. He devotes most of his time now to art making. The works in this book is the artist's first body of work following the end of his teaching career. He lives in Vincennes with his wife, Amy, a painter. His two children, Ingrid and Rachel, both are in creative fields.
