Alex Efimoff was born in 1978 in the Russian Far Eastern island of Sakhalin (Karafuto Prefecture, Japanese pre 1945). Alex, the son of a Russian sculptor, grew up surrounded by his father’s art. In 2007 Alex moved to New Zealand and after a year in Auckland settled in Wellington, the city he fell in love with. In 2010 Alex completed a 2-year Diploma in Photography at Massey University. Since then he has been establishing himself as an art photographer who works in genres of portraiture/fashion, architecture and monochromatic documentary.
