About

Pepa Babot (Madrid, 1962) has been taking photographs of people since the age of 19, when she enrolled in a general photography course in Barcelona, where she lived at the time. She worked in black and white, using her Nikon FM, until the photo lab she relied on to do her prints closed down in the late 1990s. Her first contact with digital photography was with a compact Sony Super Steady Shot, with which she discovered colour. In 2009, she took up her photographic training again at the Apertura school in Malaga, where she was taught to delve into the digital lab. She currently uses a Nikon D3100 and some of her old lenses. She specializes in portraits, taking pictures of her family and friends, and sometimes accepts commissions.
