Volume 2 edition of this book will be ready in about another month. I have to crop each letter which is about 500 pages in this book and a total of 3,000 letters to do. It is interesting finding out about the daily lives of men during a time of struggle and my grandma waiting for her man to come home to her and not another lady. |

I Daniel Schmidt is the author of the book even though it didn't take much writing because all of that was done through my Grandma and Grandpa. My Grandma didn't want us reading the letters when we were kids, even though she saved them all through out this time and I think if anyone has letters that they should save them and preserve as a part of your history. |

It you like to read about the War and what it was like for families, friends, farmers and just enjoy the Navy then you will like this book. It's fun reading about who broke up with who and people that managed to stay together. Family that died before I was even thought of. |
