In 1997 Niesen opened a tiny restaurant on a side street in Decatur, GA. After a decade of debauchery, observation and lots of hard work she lives and writes in the North Georgia mountain town of Mt. Airy. She has written for Travel & Leisure, Atlanta magazine and the St. Pete Times. She spends all of her free time and loose change in Mexico. She fancies herself a good Salsa dancer, but she's a better cook.
