|My Bio||Lawrence G. Desmond received his PhD in anthropology and archaeology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, his MA in cultural anthropology from the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula, Mexico, and has carried-out archaeological research in Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras for more than forty years. He taught at the University of Minnesota and San Francisco State University, and has published articles about his archaeological and heritage preservation projects. His books, "A Dream of Maya" and "Yucatán through her eyes," published by the University of New Mexico Press, are about the photography and studies of the ancient Maya by Alice and Augustus Le Plongeon who lived and traveled throughout Yucatán in the 1870s and 1880s. Currently Desmond is a senior research fellow in archaeology with the Moses Mesoamerican Archive and Research Project at Harvard University, and a research associate with the Department of Anthropology at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.|
