I was borne in Perth, Western Australia in 1950, grew up there when it was a much slower place to live. As a child, I spent a lot of time in the bush (woods) and developed a love for the outdoors and plants in particular. I have been working as a consultant botanist since 1988, mostly in Western Australia.
2004 was the first time I had been overseas, to present a research paper in Rhodes Island, Greece. In that first tip I went to Scotland, Greece, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Halfway through that trip I decided that I liked traveling a lot and have been doing it as much as possible since then.
Other countries I have travelled through since then are: Cambodia, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Laos, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mongolia, Russia, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
Places I want to travel to soon or spend more time in are: China, Cambodia, Nepal, Russia, Tibet and Vietnam. Then later, have a look around Chile and Peru.
