| My Bio | It may seem contradictory but Erin is a photographer with visual impairment. That requires a bit of explanation. She began shooting in junior high in her first photogrpahy class and went on to become active in yearbook production and was appointed editor twice. She was probably one of the few teenagers with her own darkroom. Early in her adult life however, she lost her vision due to diabetic retinopahty. Fotunately, groundbreaking medical techniques at that time allowed her to regain a vast majority of her vision within a couple of years...with a few residual issues. Due to these issues, Erin took almost two decades off from shooting until technology (digital imaging) allowed her to begin practicing the art again. Erin feels her visual challenges give her a unique perspective and view of the world that sometimes differs from the way others see things. Erin attempts to capture that unique vision in her images, often finding detail, texture and perspective others overlook. |
| Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about... |
| Tanzania, vol. 2 (Serengeti) and then Tanzania, vol. 3 (Ngorongoro). Other ideas? Ireland/Scotland. Prague. If we'd ever get any snow, I'd like to do one on Winter Perspectives. For fun, I might also do a short paper-back of Frisbee dogs, for those of you who like to see the lovable, adorable yet VERY athletic of the canine species! Stay tuned! |
