Gabriela is the author of “CivitaVeritas: An Italian Fellowship Journey.” A writer of essays and fiction, Gabriela’s work explores the intersection of family, identity, sexuality, aging and gender; off the page, she transforms story into experience. In 2014, she staged A Novel Performance, a month-long installation during which she wrote a novel as a live performance in Seattle’s Central Library. In 2015, she opened UGLY ME, a multi-media installation that explored concepts of self and beauty at Jack Straw’s New Media Gallery.

An alumna of Artist Trust’s EDGE Development program, her work is supported by residencies, grants and fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, Mineral School, the Northwest Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in Italy, Invoking the Pause, 4Culture and Jack Straw.
