Gary Waite took part in the 2009-10 Sights Unseen project organised by PhotoVoice in partnership with Ojos que Sienten and OBAC that introduced blind and partially sighted people to sensory photography techniques. In 2010 a PhotoVoice bursary provided Gary with the equipment, support and travel expenses required to arrange shoots of key locations and characters in the West Indian music scene that he grew up with. A selection of his photos was exhibited at the Notting Hill Carnival in 2010. In 2011 Gary appeared in a television advert for Nokia and continues to develop his photography practice.
