About

I was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County. I graduated from S. F. State University. My wife and I moved to Nevada County in 1964. We have a daughter, two sons, three grandsons, and a granddaughter.
I’ve taught art and photography in high school and at the local community college for more than forty years.
Photographing buildings and objects that people have designed and crafted (jewelry, medical instruments, ceramics, turned soapstone) fascinates me. My work includes landscapes and portraits. I work in both black and white and color.
I’ve made trips to the U. K. to photograph the ruins of Cistercian Abbeys. I have photographed other travel sites (and sights) including China, Indonesia, and British Columbia. Lately my primary work has been a series of color digital images that I call “Details.” Other current works are images of urban life, trifles, minutiae.
I’ve exhibited work in local and regional shows. I have work in several private collections
