This book is intended to be a pictorial history of military fighter aircraft from their beginning in World War I through to the early years of the 21st century. While it would be impossible to depict every fighter plane ever built, I have attempted to include representative samples from the various eras of military aviation throughout the century.

It is my hope that it will be informative, educational, and thought provoking. While not an aviation historian I am an informed enthusiast ... Enjoy!
