My Bio I live in the mystical Sonoran desert of Southern Arizona, a place of big skies and magical colors whose palette inspires all my art and writing. I'm an award winning fiction writer and digital artist with my own studio, Straight Road Studio. I won my first art contest at the age of six, was first published at seventeen, and between then and now I've done a variety of things including teaching Russian for the government, running a domestic violence shelter, and teaching college writing. My life is shared by my partner Ken, a magician of things automotive, my Belgian Malinois mix puppy Tamsin, four cats, a turtle, and valued friends.

Things I Don't Mind The World Knowing

Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about...
My VERY next book will be an illustrated collection of short stories featuring Sixkiller, a gunman of the old Southwest. After that will be another photography book, as yet untitled, which will showcase the sacred spaces people create in their homes and other surroundings.
Everyone needs to know about these authors and artists...
Neil Gaiman, China Mieville, Emma Bull and Terri Windling, some of the great urban fantasists who've inspired me, and the musicians Warren Zevon, Loreena McKennit, Sara McLachlan and Christy Moore. Among artists, Edward Gorey and also the wonderful photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson. And most certainly Richard E. Hartman, an emerging writer/illustrator with a uniquely quirky vision.
This book is addictive. Read it. (At your own risk.)
Neil Gaiman's American Gods, anything by Christopher Moore, and the award winning War for the Oaks by Emma Bull.
