My Bio
|
I am a wife, mother, sister, and friend. My career was teaching and in 1988 I was named the Virginia State Teacher of the Year. That was a wonderfully rewarding experience speaking to colleges across the state. However, in 2003, I traded my State Teacher of the Year pin for my lung cancer pin. I feel fighting cancer has been the most challenging experience in my life.
Jessica : Cancer Bio
Amid Labor Day and a hurricane in 2003 Non-smokers Lung Cancer was found in me. An Arthritis doctor heard what couldn't be heard, Then Surgery, Chemo, and Radiation occurred. Metastased to the chest - still too blessed to be depressed. For I was supported by family and friends who are the best. Having cancer is not all bad - this I have come to know, New friends, deep appreciation for each day, continue to grow. I have always believed that the people we meet, And all the experiences that daily we greet, Prepare us for a future known only above, By our creator, the God of Love.
