I have been taking photographs since I was about 9 or 10. My interest is in Landscape and Street Photography. In Landscape, I am most interested in the particular, rather than sweeping vistas. I am also deeply interested in the idea of landscape as colour, shape, pattern rather than a collection of Man-labelled objects. In Street Photography, I tend towards the ludic: people doing silly things, people caught off guard, people showing their character by accident, the mask slipping. I am not formally trained as a photographer. I read English at Lincoln College Oxford and took a special interest in writing on landscape and on aesthetics. So I had some ideas what I wanted to achieve with photography, but had to do a lot (I mean a lot) of practice to get the result... and I am still very much engaged in that search. I live in the Cotswolds, but travel very widely, which creates enormous opportunities.
