Michael David Gong

Michael David Gong was born in Alexandria, Virginia. Primarily a self-taught artist, he has been illustrating and writing stories for years.

Some of his major literary influences include: Edgar Allen Poe, Jorge Luis Borges, Italo Calvino, Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, Pablo Neruda, Franz Kafka, and Lewis Carroll.

His poems and illustrations have appeared in numerous small press literary journals, and in 2004 he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize for poetry.
