Mark Andrews, an Emmy-award winning photographer, is well known for his interpretive and well crafted photographs of the landscape in the southwestern United States. He works with a classic 4x5 wooden field camera as well as modern DSLR gear. He creates his own edition prints in gicle’, hand-embellished with pastel colors on watercolor papers. As an original pioneer of the gicle’ process for photographs in 1989, he has explored many combinations of inks, dyes and substrates to produce his glowing final prints.
Mark has frequently taught as a guest instructor at numerous workshops and university settings. His prints are collected nationwide for private and corporate collections and he remains active in creating and presenting art edition prints and commercial and documentary videography. His gallery portals may be found at MarkAndrews.com.
|Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about...|
|Coming up next - my 2013 annual landscape book, 'Light and Life in the Western Desert,' will be available by summer. Following the 2013 book, watch for my 2014 book already in working status. Featured images will include views from Yosemite, Monument Valley, the coastal redwoods, and another Great Central Nevada Photographic Expedition. Also in the works, another book: the Mark Andrews View Camera Film Retrospective, a book of 'greatest hits' from my classic film days with the 4x5 view camera.|
