About

Morgain Bailey (b.1970, she/they) is a European-diaspora American artist who works with documentary photography to observe the visible and invisible intersections and boundaries of history, politics, social structures, gender, class and ecosystems that are written into the built environment and into the skin of the earth. Her work witnesses wounded places, environmental resilience and the people whose lives intersect with those places. She lives in northern Maine and grew up on the coast of northern and central California. She is an exhibiting artist, teaches photography workshops and accepts photography assignments and commissions. She also welcomes conversations about potential public art projects and collaborations.
