Photography has been a lifelong passion for this Dutch author, who strives to combine business with pleasure. His camera gear is rarely left at home while work-related travel brings him to faraway, interesting and beautiful places on Earth. But also close at home he finds ample opportunity to capture scenes that nature and humanity have to offer. Browsing through his portfolio makes clear that there are not many subjects that fail to catch his eye, be it a landscape, natural or urban, or a face in the crowd.

He works for the Dutch national radio astronomy institute and during the last decade has devoted his career to the Square Kilometre Array project, a new telescope that by far will surpass the capability of existing telescopes.
