TJ Fleming was born in Orlando, FL. He is a recent graduate of Furman University in Greenville, SC where he earned a B.S. degree in Environmental Communications. This book is a rewrite and re-edit of TJ's senior thesis, which was titled Green Building Strategies.
Upon completion of undergraduate work, TJ worked as a Naturalist at Camp St. Christopher's Barrier Island Environmental Education Center. There he restarted the organic garden and taught outdoor education to Charleston's youth.
TJ currently teaches middle school science at the Fourth Presbyterian School in Potomac, MD. He also works as an enologist (wine maker) at a small sustainable farm in Poolesville, MD. TJ longs to see a society where individuals are more complete and more integrated into a culture where community and love are not mere afterthoughts.
