Tom Reese is a photojournalist and explorer of nature and the environment. His work appears in many books, magazines and newspapers and has received awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International, Best of Photojournalism, Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, Society of Newspaper Design, American Academy of Pediatrics and Environmental Photography Invitational.
He has covered stories from his back yard to the other side of the world as a staff photographer at the Seattle Times and other newspapers for many years, and has also been a reporter, photo editor and designer.
Exhibits of his photographs include the United Nations, World Press Photo, the Northwest Exhibition of Environmental Photography and the University of Washington.
He and his family have been fortunate to live in Seattle, less than 8.3 minutes from the shore of the marsh they cherish, for more than 18 years.
HIs kayak could still use some varnish.
