I am a full-time Lyme disease warrior, writer, nature photographer, yogi and dog enthusiast.
After a 15-year career in marketing, my health deteriorated to the point of disability. I stopped working in 2010 because I was too sick to continue. In 2013, eight years after the start of my illness, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and began treatment. Treating Lyme disease is full-time job as it is a difficult, complex disease to treat and needs complete focus. To keep me distracted and give myself a purpose outside of Lyme disease, I picked up a camera and quickly became fascinated with macro photography. It is very easy to become alienated and cut-off from friends and family for months and years as the disease and/or treatment of the disease progresses. Sharing my photography keeps me grounded and connected with the world. I enjoy writing humorous stories about my encounters with nature and sharing fascinating facts about plants and animals.
