In 2012 the project [Leaving Traces] started where it kicked off with the Graduates 2012 editions. Books, eBooks and now magazines as well in collaboration with Rietveld students who graduate in July.
[Leaving Traces] is an instrument to follow the development of these young artists, after they leave the academy, tracking traces left on the internet.
[Leaving Traces] Graduates, the books and magazines are a private initiative, a collaboration between me and the artists involved.
|Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about...|
Hanuman Dhoka [The Search For Froitt]|
In 1996 Froitt Jentzen was swept away and drowned while swimming in the Trisuli river in Nepal, in 2012 the notes and drafts for a book he was working on was delivered to me. I was supposed to work with Froitt on a book which we gave the working title ' Tole's in Kathmandu', a book about the people who have their business on the streets and town squares of Kathmandu.
In 2013 I went to Kathmandu to follow Froitt's traces to find out what really happened.
