After service in the Palestine Police I was posted to Malaya at the outbreak of the communist terrorist Emergency there in 1948. I was instrumental in forming the Malayan Police Frontier Branch and went on to be the first British Vice-Consul, South Siam, in Songkhla South Thailand (as it became). I later recruited, armed and trained some of the Semoi-Senai tribe of Malayan aboriginese for jungle operations.
