Ron McBurnie is an Australian painter and printmaker. He has a studio in Townsville, North Queensland.
The tropical environment of North Queensland is strong influence on his work. He also draws inspiration from the different places he visits as well as from his interest in the earlier traditions of British and European printmaking and painting.
On his recent travels he has journeyed to Lake Hawea, New Zealand and has been Artist-in-residence at the Australian National University in Canberra (2010), National Art School in Sydney, (2010), Alayrac, France (2009 and 2011), Carleton College in Minnesota (2006), Frans Masereel, Centrum in Belgium (2004 and 2011).
