About

I began beading back in 2003 after being diagnosed with a serious illness. The beading proved to be a powerful tool in my recuperation. After teaching myself beading and jewellery making techniques, I moved straight on to designing my own work. I was invited to publish my first design in a magazine in 2006. I have won several beading competitions both in the UK and internationally, including the British Bead Awards. In 2010 I wrote my first beading book, with designs for miniature beaded cakes to celebrate special occasions. In 2012 I left my 'day job' to work full-time as a writer and bead artist. I gained a teaching qualification and regularly teach beadwork designs and techniques throughout the UK. In 2014 I was invited to become editor of Bead and Jewellery Magazine. I am probably best known for my beaded wedding bouquets - they look like fresh flowers! - and my beaded cakes...the calorie-free answer for those with a sweet tooth!
