Bloom Where Planted

Pasadena, CA, U.S.A.
About

Bloom Where Planted is a non-profit Public Charity for the benefit of the education of children in Africa — Kenya and Rwanda, specifically.

Areas of Expertise

Mary McNeill Fry, President of 'Bloom Where Planted' and proprietor of Rose Tree Cottage, British import retail establishment and tearoom in Pasadena, California. As a long time photography enthusiast and tour leader, her first trip to Africa in 2002 led to a devotion to that intoxicating continent — it's landscape, animals and people, especially the children. A non-profit charity was formed as a way to educate children of Kenya and Rwanda and help them "Bloom where they are Planted".

Professional Affiliations

Adam Woolfitt, professional photographer from Britain, joined our Enrichment Camp volunteer team as an instructor of basic photography for the Standard 8 students of Longonot Primary School, Kenya. In that capacity, he edited photographs taken by the children, which appears in book form as "Pupil Power". In addition, he is publishing an exquisite appointment calendar featuring wildlife photographs taken in Kenya. Both books benefit 'Bloom Where Planted'.
