Ms. Carol DeGrange lives in Sebring, Ohio with her husband Dr. Donald Hobson, who is retired from the Department of Religion and Philosoply at the University of Mount Union.. Ms. DeGrange has worked in pbulic relations and mediation and recently retired from adjunct teaching in the English Departments of the University of Mount Union and Walsh University. She also taught Oriental Art at the University of Mount Union.

She has published poetry & a mystery novel, The Ming Legacy, set in China and is working on a novel about the fall of The Ming Dynasty and the rise of The Qing Dynasty.

Ms. DeGrange spent two years living and teaching in China. The first year (1989-90) she taught in Jilin City. The second year, she taught at Sun Yat Sen University in Guangzhou, China for the 1995 academic year. Her husband joined her to do research on Christianity and Buddhism in China. The couple have firve children, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
