I am the seventh child born to the late Maxine F. Casey and Amos King. I was raised relatively poor, thus, had the essentials to survive with the assistance of gov't help. I have a bachelors degree from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and currently working on becoming a certified teacher. At an early age, I was diagnosed as having a learning disability, whereas, I think that label affected me and there was never a proven fact that I was. However, I lived the early parts of my life in isolation due to low self-esteem. I had difficulties expressing myself because I did not know that I was smart enough. However, through the arts and meeting someone who made me feel special opened up a new door to self love. Therefore, I have not looked back.
