About

Carolyn moved to New York City in 1979. Upon graduation from New York University with Degrees in Economics and Russian Language, her parents gave her a Nikon FM2 (she still holds them responsible).
From that time, she has documented and pursued stories in and about New York City. In 1991, photographs she took of the Welcome Home Parade after Desert Storm were chosen to be part the of the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. She began photographing for Gamma Liaison Agency in 1991 and freelancing for the New York Times in 1995. By 1999 Gamma merged with Getty Images and Carolyn photographed stories and portraiture for the Assignment Division.
Her photos have appeared in numerous publications worldwide including the New York Times, Newsweek, GEO, New York Magazine, the New York Post, Travel & Leisure, Sports Illustrated, and featured in Nikon World Magazine.
She has photographed 2 Eco Challenges, 2 Marathon des Sables, the Jordan Cup and the Gobi March.
