Dan Kerins was very lucky indeed to grow up on the beautiful Dorset coast, where he fell in love with surfing and the sea. This love lead him to Cornwall where he is currently based (and still surfing). After traveling to Mexico, as a teenager he also developed a keen wanderlust, it appealed to his curious nature.
That trip sparked a series of other wanderings accompanied by a camera and often a surfboard, to places such as Cuba, El Salvador, Taiwan, Honduras, Laos, Serbia, Hungry, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and many more. These trips were always heavily underfunded with very little planning, forcing him to undertake all manners of underpaid employment, voluntary work and the acceptance of bizarre/seedy/unhygienic accommodation, relying on the kindness of strangers and the exploitive nature of employers to get by.
