My Bio Elgin Bolling has been a professional artistsince age eight, when he illustrated his first book, Mother, These Are My Friends, for Author Mary Anne Gross. Since that time he has worked as a Professional artist drawing caricature live for corporate parties and special events. In addition he has done storyboarding and animation work for film and advertising firms, and writes a popular column on All Experts.com Extreme Life drawing, or Subwaysurfing is Elgin's passion as he daily captures his fellow commuters on the subwaytrains in NYC. Subwaysurfing has helped me to make wonderful connections with people, and has contributed to making the subway car a more festive place, at least, when Im there! What I do is a type of visual storytelling. My caricatures are not just about "making fun" although you may laugh along the way. I CELEBRATE faces in all their wonder and diversity. There is no such thing as an "ugly face" It all depends on how you look at it> I look through a funhouse mirror.

Things I Don't Mind The World Knowing

Spoiler alert: I'm thinking my next book will be about...
My next book project , 30 days, Will have me turning the microscope, and the pencil on myself. I explore my own self esteem issues and what it's like to be caricatured again and again . Unlike my first two books, this one will be filled with more commentary as I share with you my personal feelings about my oown appearance and how caricature has helped me come to terms with it.
Everyone needs to know about these authors and artists...
Most of the world is totally unaware of just how diverse and awesome caricature artists are. The misconception is that we are "garbage artists" who "just draw big noses" on people and "anyone" can do what we do. I have had the honor of being exposed to many talented artists as part of a professional organization that i am part of called The NCN That's The National Caricaturists Network at www.caricature.org
