Devin Sarno began writing in the early 1980's. Thru the years, he established the chap book imprint Blue Funk Press & released several noted compilation books featuring L.A.-based writers & musicians. Sarno frequently performed live spoken word shows throughout the area and opened for the likes of Jane's Addiction & Exene Cervenka (of X). Saccharine Trust created a song ("Devin's Poem") around Sarno's writing on their "Past Lives" CD (SST Records.)
In the late 1980's, Sarno also took up music and as a bassist, formed the band Waldo The Dog Faced Boy. Many of Waldo's song lyrics were taken from his writings. In early 1990, Sarno also began a solo bass side project focusing on improvised subsonics. This is still his primary musical outlet today.
Devin Sarno has toured both coasts of the U.S. sharing concert bills with the likes of: Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Nels Cline (Wilco), Blonde Redhead, Ben Harper & many others.
