I'm an Associate Professor of Architecture at Ball State University, where I direct the Architecture for Extreme Environments program. My resume includes employment by the CIA and residence at Dai Bosatsu Zen Monastery. In 1981 I founded my own design-build firm, and in 1998 received my PhD in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. I have delivered lectures and workshops in over 20 countries. And I have been an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
