Jabbar Farshbaf is an Iranian literary researcher, author, poet and painter whose work explores the meeting point of Persian literature and visual storytelling.

His research focuses on Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, leading to the creation of Minimal Shahnameh, a faithful condensation of the complete epic into sixty seven connected stories that preserves its original narrative while making it more accessible to modern readers.

Accompanied by sixty seven original acrylic paintings, the book offers a contemporary gateway into one of the most influential works of Persian literature. Alongside his creative work, Farshbaf continues to explore the hidden historical, linguistic and cultural layers of the Shahnameh.
