About

A graduate of the U. of Minnesota and U. of Pennsylvania I have practiced architecture in London, Copenhagen, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and on the Oregon coast. In addition I have also been a professor of architecture at the U. of Utah for 27 years and now am a Professor Emeritus as a visiting critic, periodically, at the U. of Oregon, WSU and at The Catholic University of America in their foreign studies programs in Rome and Paris.

Areas of Expertise

In addition to teaching, I have designed a variety of building types that include medical facilities, education, commerce and residential projects. I also have written numerous papers addressing subjects such as the sublime, film and architecture and presently the role of silence as part of the cultural zeitgeist.
