Kevin was drafted into the MLS by LA Galaxy in 1997. In his rookie year, he appeared in eight games recording his first 3 shutouts. In 1999, he was awarded MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and was named one of the MLS Best XI allowing less than a goal per game.

His success continued with LA Galaxy with becoming Open Cup Champions in 2005
and 2001, and MLS Cup Champions in 2005 and 2002. In 2006, he was traded to the Kansas City Wizards, where he broke the all-time MLS saves record and most
minutes played record in the MLS. In addition, in 2009 Kevin received his National A license for coaching.

In 2010, Kevin was traded to FC Dallas where he is currently the goalkeeper. On June 4, 2011, Kevin became the first goalkeeper in MLS history to record 100 shutouts.
