Jerod Schmidt grew up in Central Oregon. After earning Bachelors degrees in both Art and Art Education he moved to Chicago, where he taught in public high schools for several years. Along with a friend, he also opened and ran an art gallery – 4Art Inc. – for two years. He now resides in Portland, Oregon, where he teaches Art and Graphics at a public high school.
A self taught photographer, his interest in photography began at a young age. His work focuses on subtle urban forms, the power of nature, and often the interplay of the two.
