"I am equally interested in communicating the internal and external in my work. Subject, composition, and palette are often more reflective of my internal state than the physical environment. I hope that personal subtext takes my work beyond the literal to something more transcendant."
Jennifer L. Hoffman was born and raised in the rural Pennsylvania Dutch community of Ephrata. She began drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil. After earning her BFA from the University of Delaware, she moved to Jackson Hole, WY, where she's become a recognized plein air and studio artist.
Hoffman has participated in many regional and national exhibitions. Recent awards include an Award of Merit at the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters' National Exhibition and 3rd Place in Landscape in the 9th Annual Pastel 100. Hoffman is a member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters, the Oil Painters of America, and a signature member of the Pastel Society of America.
